The World Music Expo (WOMEX) is a must-attend event on the calenders of music industry executives around the world. Part of its allure is the fact that it is a hotbed of talent, typically musicians successful in their native countries and ready to take their careers to an international audience. This year 52 artists hailing from 42 different countries were selected to perform by the Womex jury out of a competitive pool of 600 nominees—and Taksim Trio was Turkey’s representative!

Held in Sevilla, Spain between October 26th and 28th, this year over 2.800 people attended this prestigious conference.
Hüsnü Şenlendirici, İsmail Tunçbilek and Aytaç Doğan took the stage at Sevilla’s historic and mesmerizing Teatro Lope de Vega Salonu before a packed house of 1.000 influential spectators consisting of music critics, radio programmers, record labels, promoters and festival directors. By the end of the concert, the audience gave the musicians a raving standing ovation and proclaimed Taksim Trio’s performance to be “the best performance of the conference”.
 
Following the concert, the stand Doublemoon (voted one of the top 10 world music record labels by Womex) set up was visited by a steady stream of visitors.
